The agent of Hamburg striker Jann-Fiete Arp has dismissed reports that the 17 year old is poised to join Chelsea.

A story in the Mirror on Saturday claimed the Blues were confident they had beaten off both Manchester City and Arsenal to the forward’s signature, but when asked about the report by German tabloid Bild, Jurgen Milewski denied there was any truth to the claim:

“There is nothing in the story.”

Arp confirmed in the summer that he had rejected a switch to Chelsea, and he has since gone on to make his first team debut for Hamburg this season.

The German under 17 international scored his first senior goal in only his second game in a 2-1 defeat against Hertha Berlin at the end of last month, and he has started the club’s last three league games, with another goal coming against Stuttgart in a 3-1 victory.

The striker’s decision to stay at Hamburg was based on getting first team opportunities and it seems that at the moment he is getting the minutes on the pitch he wants.
