Chelsea attacking midfielder Willian is being considered by Barcelona as a potential alternative to Philippe Coutinho, according to Goal.com.

The Brazilian international has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent weeks with French website Le10 Sport even speculating that the 29 year old would be sold in the January transfer window to make room for Paris Saint-Germain’s Lucas Moura.

Goal.com believe that Willian’s agent Giuliano Bertolucci could play a critical role in securing his move to Barca. Bertolucci is also former Tottenham midfielder Paulinho’s representative and was vitally important in securing the 29 year old’s switch from Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande to the Camp Nou in the summer.

Willian’s own form has picked up in recent weeks, but he has been used sparingly from the start by manager Antonio Conte in league games this season. The Brazilian has four goals and five assists this campaign, but he has only started half of the 21 games he has played in.
