Chelsea has been suggested as a potential summer destination for Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil by German publication SportBild (via SportWitness).

The sports news outlet reports that the World Cup winner could end up at Stamford Bridge if other clubs cannot match the sky high wage demands of the player.

It is believed that Ozil is demanding €350,000 a week from his next club, as well as a substantial signing on fee if he leaves the Gunners on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Barcelona were said to be keen on the 29 year old as a potential alternative to Philippe Coutinho in January but the German’s wage demands have put them off from making a bid.

Arsenal meanwhile have been prepared to go up £250,000 a week to keep Ozil, but there has been no breakthrough in discussions, and the Evening Standard reports that the Gunners have given both the German international and Alexis Sanchez until the end of December to make their minds up over their future.
