Real president Florentino Perez is determined to sign either Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois or Manchester United’s David de Gea at the end of the season, according to Don Balon.
The Spanish publication say Real are hoping to replace current number one Keylor Navas in goal, with the Costa Rican international likely to be offloaded to Paris Saint-Germain to make room for a new first choice keeper at the Bernabeu.
Courtois’s long term future with the Blues remains a concern as he has not signed a new contract despite heading into the last 18 months of his current deal. The Evening Standard reported back in June that the 25 year old had rejected Chelsea’s opening offer to extend his deal at Stamford Bridge, with the player said to be holding out for £200,000 a week.
Whether Perez and Real will take advantage of this contract impasse, it remains to be seen, The Belgian international has never hidden his love for Madrid after spending three years on loan at Real’s city rivals Atletico.
