Manchester United will look to sell Luke Shaw for £20m rather than allow the player to depart on loan, according to the Times.

United boss Jose Mourinho reportedly does not want the player to leave on a temporary basis as the 22 year old is not part of his future plans, and it could lead to a scramble for the player’s signature with five Premier League teams said to be interested in the full back.

The Daily Telegraph say that Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester City and Everton are all monitoring Shaw’s situation, and could all make attempts to sign the defender.

Manchester United have also reportedly activated their option to extend the England international’s contract by a further year until 2020, in order for them to get the highest possible price for the player.

Shaw signed for the Red Devils for £30million from Southampton in 2014, but injuries and a lack of first team opportunities has seen his career stall. Spurs are still the likely front runners for the full back with the left back having recently spoken of his admiration for manager Mauricio Pochettino after working with the Argentine while at the Saints.
