Chelsea are interested in signing Real Madrid attacking midfielder Marco Asensio, according to Don Balon, with the Spaniard reportedly keen on a move if he isn’t given more game time.
The 21 year old was hailed as being Spain’s next superstar after a superb start to the season, but he has been reduced to cameo substitute appearances in Real’s last two matches, and he is said to be impatient with manager Zinedine Zidane’s decision to not use him more.
Asensio only signed a new six year contract back in September but the Spanish international assumed the intention was for him to play an important role in the first team this season.
Don Balon report that the midfielder may use Chelsea’s interest in talks with Real president Florentino Perez in order to get more minutes. At this moment in time, the Spaniard is not said to be focused on moving to Stamford Bridge, but that could change if he remains on the periphery of the first team at the Bernabeu.
