Roma have joined the likes of Inter Milan, Chelsea, Liverpool and Sevilla in pursuing a deal for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalan newspaper reports that Roma’s sporting director Monchi is a huge admirer of the player, while Sevilla are said to be lining up a loan bid for the Argentinian international.

Pastore has already expressed a desire to return to Italy after having played for Palermo before signing for PSG. Palermo’s sporting director at the time was Walter Sabatini, who is now at Inter, and the midfielder has openly stated his interest in linking up with him once again.

It means Inter are certainly the hot favourites to land the 28 year old in the January transfer window ahead of the likes of the Blues. Both Chelsea and Liverpool were linked by French publication L’Equipe with Pastore last week, but the Argentine’s statements since about preferring a return to Serie A means a move to the Premier League looks very unlikely at the moment.
