The wife and agent of Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi has admitted that some of Europe’s top clubs are pursuing the 24 year old.
The Argentinian international has been in great form this campaign with 15 goals in 14 Serie A games, and it has led to a report in Spanish publication AS that Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain were all watching the player closely.
Speaking to Calciomercato.com, Wanda Nara poured fuel on the fire by stating that there are certain offers that can’t be refused:
“Mauro is an important player and these are top clubs who have been following him for some time. It’s right that such an attacker, one of the most important in the world, has big clubs who care about him and consider him for what he is worth.”
“He has a contract and he thinks about winning with Inter. He is happy about how things are going and he is aiming for the best. But you do not know what happens in the future, and there are offers that cannot be refused.”
Reports have also suggested that Icardi has a €110million release clause, leading to Inter to offer improved terms on his current contract. Discussing the subject of the contract renewal and the increased buyout fee, Nara confirmed that they would be seeking to increase it to at least €200m.
AS reported yesterday that Icardi will be offered a new deal in the region of €7million a year, or roughly £120,000 a week, with the contract extending until 2023.
