Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore will be allowed to leave for €20m (£18m), according to L’Equipe (via the Daily Star).

The French publication say that Chelsea and Liverpool have a long standing interest in the player, but they may face competition from the likes of Inter Milan for the Argentine’s signature.

Pastore is likely to be sold in the January transfer window as part of PSG’s efforts to offset the huge costs of the signings of both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. While Lucas Moura and Angel Di Maria have been the two players most heavily linked with leaving the Parc des Princes, the Argentinian international is also another name who is deemed surplus to requirements.

The attacking midfielder has struggled for first team opportunities over the past couple of seasons, and has started just four games so far this campaign, having played eight times in total, although it must be said he did miss a month of action due to a calf injury back in September.
