Chelsea star Eden Hazard has reiterated that he would be interested in joining Real Madrid but the Belgian forward says he remains firmly committed to playing for the Blues.

The 26 year old said that he has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge numerous times, but he has shown his commitment to the club by staying despite all the rumours. He told Canal+ (translated by FourFourTwo.com):

“When I feel the desire to leave, I’ll leave. But, for now, I’m a Blue. We know the admiration that I have for Real, but I’m at Chelsea. Every year, things were said about me but I stayed. In Lille, I was announced in Paris, but I stayed. And in Chelsea, people always said that I’m leaving, but I’m still here.”

Hazard has two and a half years left on his current contact at Chelsea, and there has been speculation in recent months that he is close to signing a new deal until 2021.

Such a contract would mean he would stay at the Blues until he is 30, which may rule him out ever joining Real Madrid if he is past his prime by then.

The Belgian international’s strong admiration for both Real Madrid and their manager Zinedine Zidane is pretty clear, but Hazard is keen to point out that doesn’t mean very much. All will depend on whether he signs that reported new deal.
