Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Chelsea full back Marcos Alonso, according to El Gol Digital.
The Spanish club are looking for a long term replacement for Felipe and see the former Fiorentina defender as the ideal player. It is reported that Atletico may take advantage of Chelsea’s interest in Yannick Carrasco to sign Alonso.
The winger was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the summer and it seems Atletico may want Alonso and/or David Luiz in a part exchange deal for the Belgian international.
Alonso’s long term future with the Blues is not guaranteed despite being the club’s first choice left wing back. Manager Antonio Conte has been trying to sign Juventus’s Alex Sandro since the end of last season, but Juve have remained resolute in their determination to keep the Brazilian.
Reports in the Italian media have suggested that the Serie A champions have offered the left back a new contract, but he has yet to sign a new deal.
