Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio will be present for tonight’s game between Chelsea and Roma, reports the Corriere Dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com). The Italian newspaper suggests Ausilio may be there to watch centre back Andreas Christensen while he is in the country.
Ausilio was also in Manchester yesterday to watch City’s 2-1 win over Napoli. Inter face the Serie A league leaders at the weekend so his presence at the match was not at all surprising.
His reported stop in London to watch Chelsea can not be explained away as a mere trip to watch future opponents. Inter faced Roma back in August, when the Nerrazurri won 3-1, and the next time they face them will be in January.
Chelsea are highly unlikely to want to discuss a deal for Christensen with Inter though. The Danish international has already featured nine times under manager Antonio Conte this season, with five starts in all competitions.
