Paris Saint-Germain are considering a January bid for Genoa striker Pietro Pellegri, according to Il Secolo XIX.

The Italian publication reports that Premier League clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United are keeping tabs on the 16 year old but PSG have emerged as the leading candidate in the last few days.

The Ligue One club do have a track record of signing young Italian players after signing Marco Verratti as a 19 year old from Pescara for just €12m, and they are also monitoring Pellegri who is rated at £40m by his club.

The Italian under 17 international is however happy to stay at Genoa, Il Secolo XIX reports, at least for the next two years. The club’s president Enrico Preziosi meanwhile has not yet made a decision on whether to sell the forward. He is believed to be waiting until January to see what concrete offers are proposed by interested clubs.
