Fenerbahce central midfielder Josef de Souza says he is still holding out for a move to the Premier League to play for a club like Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool.

The former Brazilian international told Haberturk that he did have the opportunity of joining West Bromwich Albion but he opted to stay in Turkey. The 28 year old is highly unlikely to be offered the chance of playing at a top six Premier League club but the midfielder is still hopeful he can still develop further as a player to impress the biggest teams:

“When I develop myself a little more, I can see that I move forward. After that I will try to maintain this development. If one day comes a bid from a team like Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, then the situation may develop differently.”

De Souza was given three caps for Brazil’s national team between 2014 and 2015 when he was playing for Sao Paulo. He started out at Vasco da Gama before spending two seasons at Porto.

The midfielder then returned to Brazil for spells at Gremio and Sao Paulo before returning to Europe to play for Fenerbahce over the past two seasons. This campaign, he has made nine appearances for the Turkish club, providing one assist.
