A source has told the Daily Star that Tottenham left back Danny Rose has his heart set on a summer switch to Manchester United.

Chelsea have also been heavily linked with the 27 year old in the last few months, but it seems the full back is seeking a switch to Old Trafford. The anonymous source was quoted by the Star as saying:

“The lure of United is too strong for him and if he had the choice he would pick United hands down.”

Rose has been sidelined with a knee injury since January, and has not featured for Spurs at all this season. The England international is however believed to be close to a first team return after fully recovering from an operation he underwent in May.

The defender is said to be keen to leave Spurs to increase his £75,000 a week wages, with United believed to be prepared to double his current salary if they can agree a transfer with his club next summer.

Chelsea are still monitoring Alex Sandro’s situation at Juventus, but reports in the Italian media say that the Brazilian is close to signing a new €5m a year contract with the Italian club, meaning the Blues may miss out on another left back. Soon to be out of contract Napoli full back Faouzi Ghoulam is another option for Chelsea, but they may face competition from Manchester City for his signature.
