Chelsea and Manchester United could be joined by Manchester City in the battle for Tottenham full back Danny Rose, according to journalist Graeme Bailey.

The Daily Star reported yesterday that the defender was seemingly favouring a switch to Manchester United. An anonymous source told the newspaper that the 27 year old would much prefer a move to Old Trafford if he had a choice. It seems as though that City may also have a part to play in the race to sign the left back.

The England international has been agitating for a move away from Spurs since the start of the season as he seeks an increase on the £75,000 a week contract he signed just last September.

The full back has not even kicked a football since January after injuring his knee against Sunderland. He underwent surgery in May but has been slowly making a return to full fitness since then. It is believed he will be ready for selection again at some point next month.
