AC Milan are considering signing Santos midfielder Lucas Lima on a free transfer in the January transfer window, according to Sky Sport Italia (via Football-Italia.net).
The Brazilian international’s contract expires at the end of December, and Chelsea have been mentioned as a possible destination for the 27 year old in recent months.
Last week, Lima’s agent denied claims that the player had received any proposals from European clubs last summer, with the exception of Fenerbahce. Sky Sport Italia report however Milan are interested in the midfielder, along with Chinese Super League side Hebei China Fortune.
The Serie A side have struggled in the league this season, and find themselves in tenth place after eight games, despite spending nearly £200m on eleven players before the start of the campaign.
Lima is reportedly waiting until November before looking at his potential options, and it is likely more clubs will enter the race for the Brazilian the closer it gets to January.
