The Mirror have reported this week that Chelsea will attempt to sign both Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez and Juventus left back Alex Sandro in order to persuade manager Antonio Conte into staying at the club.

The Italian is reportedly unsettled after a number of run ins over key issues. Conte is said to be unhappy with the lack of communication with owner Roman Abramovich and director Marina Granovskaia, while he has had a number of disagreements over player recruitment and youth development.

To improve relations it seems the club’s hierarchy are willing to shell out £60m on Sandro, who was the club’s number one transfer target this summer. Juve refused to sell at the time, and are believed to be in negotiations with the player over a new contract, so it is likely that a new approach for the player will not go down well.

As for Sanchez, Chelsea could try to offer a sizeable transfer fee in order to persuade Arsenal to sell to a rival; especially with the Chilean international’s contract running down. Some Chelsea fans were excited about the news on Twitter:
