Manchester United will rival Chelsea and a number of other clubs to sign Genoa striker Pietro Pellegri, according to the Sun.

The Blues have been tracking the 16 year old’s progress since the second half of last season, but it looks as though United have now begun tracking the Italian’s progress as well.

With such a huge demand for the player’s services, it is no surprise that Genoa are looking to place a premium price tag on the teenager, and the Sun says it has been told that the Serie A club will not sell for less than £40million, despite Pellegri having only played a handful of matches at senior level.

He made his debut as a late substitute against Torino last December, and he has made another five appearances in the first team since then. He scored his first goal in the 3-2 defeat to Roma back in May, while he scored two against Lazio earlier this month.
