Monaco forward Keita Balde Diao has confirmed that the only offer he received this summer was from the Ligue One club.

Chelsea were linked with the Senegalese international earlier this summer by Italian newspaper La Repubblica, but the 22 year old was also reportedly on the radar of Serie A side’s Juventus and Inter.

Keita agreed a five year deal to make the £27m switch from Lazio last week, and speaking out about other potentially interested clubs, the pacey winger was dismissive:

“There was a lot of talk about offers from Juve and Inter. The only real offer came from Monaco.”

Inter were reportedly after Keita as a replacement for either Ivan Perisic or Antonio Candreva, who were linked with moves to Manchester United and Chelsea respectively, but both players remained in Italy, and are very much part of manager Luciano Spalletti’s first team plans.

Keita has yet to play this season following extensive negotiations over his departure from Lazio. He had a breakthrough season last campaign, scoring 16 goals, and providing five assists in 31 appearances for the Serie A club.
