Chelsea manager Antonio Conte’s made some interesting comments about his long term future with the Blues during an interview with Radio Anch’io Sport in the last few days.

Asked about whether he is missing Italy, Conte is quoted by the Metro as saying:

“I miss Italy, there is no doubt. It is not in my mind to stay abroad for a long time. Italy is my country. I will return, I don’t know when but that is the aim.”

Conte however went on to say that he intends to see out his project at Chelsea to its conclusion, which suggests that he will not leave before his contract ends in 2019, results permitting.

It didn’t take long for the Italian press to jump on the story though with the Gazzetta Dello Sport reporting that Conte is being lined up to replace Vincenzo Montella at AC Milan after the Rossoneri suffered their second defeat of the season against Sampdoria in a 2-0 loss on Sunday afternoon. The club spent €200m on new players in the summer but they currently sit sixth in the Serie A table:
