Chelsea are considering whether to sign Napoli left back Faouzi Ghoulam in the January transfer window, according to TalkSport.
The Algerian international is available on a free transfer next summer after failing to agree terms with his club over a new deal, but reports in Italy suggest Juventus are considering a bid for the 26 year old in January as well.
This interest may have sparked more speculation surrounding Blues’ interest in Alex Sandro but it looks like the Brazilian is set to sign a new deal to remain in Turin instead.
With hopes of signing the Juve defender fading, it seems Chelsea may look to Ghoulam as an alternative, but they will have to fend off Liverpool as well to land the full back.
Ghoulam remains very much part of manager Maurizio Sarri’s first team plans despite his contract situation, and he has started the season brightly with a goal and an assist to his name after four appearances in all competitions.
