Chelsea could use the influence of midfielder N’Golo Kante to land Caen starlet Elye Wahi, according to the Sun.

Wahi came through the same local club and youth academy as the Blues star, but unlike the French international, the 14 year old is a striker whose exploits in front of goal have caused most of Europe’s top clubs to take notice of his talents.

The forward scored 89 goals in all competitions last season for Caen’s youth team, but as he is below the age of 16, the French club cannot yet sign him up to a professional deal.

It means the Blues and many other clubs are monitoring the player’s progress in view to signing him when he turns professional. French newspaper Le Parisien report there are five other Premier league sides keeping a close eye on Wahi.

Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham and Southampton have all been looking at the teenager, while Serie A champions Juventus are the seventh club that could make a move for the striker.
