Juventus will look to ward off any future advances from Chelsea with a new contract offer for left back Alex Sandro in the next few weeks, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Italian website reports that Juve have set up a meeting with the player’s agent in order to secure the Brazilian on a longer term deal. The defender is in a strong position because of the interest in him from the Blues, and the Serie A champions intend to propose an offer that the full back can’t refuse.

Sandro is currently two years into a five year contract, but the Bianconeri want the player to extend his deal by a further two years. It was reported by Football-Italia.net at the start of the month that the 26 year old would be offered €5million a year, or roughly £90,000 a week.

Calciomercato however report a lower figure of just €4million a year plus bonuses, just £68,000 a week. Whether that will be enough for Sandro to sign a new deal, it remains to be seen.
