Juventus are confident that they have secured Chelsea target Alex Sandro to a new contract, according to Calciomercato.com‘s Nicola Balice.

The Brazilian is one of the club’s lowest earners in the first team, and the player would have been tempted by the riches on offer from the Blues if he wasn’t promised a bumper new deal to stay at Juve.

The Serie A champions are happy to make Sandro one of the club’s highest paid players in order to prevent the 26 year old from leaving Italy. There has been a pause in negotiations, Calciomercato report, but they believe the delay is not down to the left back demanding a higher salary than the club are offering.

It is believed that the deal is worth €5m a season, plus bonuses, which will mean his wages will nearly match other top earners in the first team, including Gonzalo Higuain, Paulo Dybala and Douglas Costa.
