Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard looks set to reject overtures from the likes of Real Madrid by agreeing to a new lucrative long term contract, according to Daily Telegraph journalist Matt Law.

The Belgian international’s current deal expires in 2020, and during the last international break, Hazard raised concern among Blues fans when he stated there had been no progress on a new contract.

That looks to have changed in recent weeks with the Telegraph reporting that a £300,000 a week offer has been put on the table. The Blues are said to be confident that the 26 year old will accept the proposal.

Hazard signed for the London club from Lille in 2012 for £32million. Since then the Belgian has racked up 254 appearances in a Chelsea shirt, scoring 72 goals and contributing 64 assists.

At Antonio Conte’s pre-match conference ahead of tonight’s game against Atletico Madrid, the Italian manager hinted Hazard would start the Champions League tie, saying he feels it is the “right moment” for the player.
