Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has given manager Antonio Conte something to think about after his hat-trick against Nottingham Forest last night.
The Belgian international has had to play second fiddle to record signing Alvaro Morata for most of the club’s matches so far this season, but the 23 year old showed he is still in good goalscoring touch for when he is called upon by Conte in future games.
The £33m signing from Marseille last summer struggled for game time under the Italian for most of last season but he seems to have begun to win over the Blues boss over the past few months.
Batshuayi started the opening day defeat to Burnley when Morata was short of match fitness, but the Spanish striker has so far been chosen ahead of the Belgian in the club’s most important matches so far this campaign.
The hat-trick will certainly help to convince Conte that the forward deserves more game time. Here is some of the Twitter reaction to Batshuayi’s performance last night.
@mbatshuayi I love the way this guy is obsessed with scoring goals ??? @EASPORTSFIFA you know what you need to do #Batman #Batshuayi pic.twitter.com/iGrwt21FG7

Batsuayi 4 goals, 2 starts, 1 hatrick. Morata 4 starts 3 goals, no brace. Are you thinking what I’m thinking ????????

Michy Batshuayi becomes the first player to score a hat-trick for Chelsea since Diego Costa in 2014 against Swansea.

Some others are still to be convinced by the player though:
Honestly Batshuayi can only finish, he doesn’t bring anything else to the table…
