Chelsea winger Charly Musonda marked his first start for the Blues with a goal against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup last night.

His goal in the 40th minute of the match contributed to a comfortable 5-1 win over the Championship club, helping Chelsea into the fourth round of the competition.

The Belgian under 21 international said he was overcome with emotion after scoring on his full debut for the club at Stamford Bridge, and the 20 year old would have no doubt impressed manager Antonio Conte with his exploits on the pitch.

The Italian gave Musonda his debut in a very brief cameo against Arsenal in the Community Shield at the start of last month, and he was given his Premier League bow as a substitute in the 3-2 opening day defeat to Burnley. After spending a year on loan at Real Betis, he seems to be now in with a stronger chance of first team action.

Here is some of the Twitter reaction to Musonda’s performance last night.
