Las Palmas have joined Cagliari in pursuing Chelsea striker Loic Remy, according to the Sun.

Sky Sport Italia revealed last week that Cagliari were considering a move for the Frenchman if a bid for Napoli forward Leonardo Pavoletti faltered.

Gran Canaria based newspaper La Provincia are however reporting that Remy could make a switch to Spain with Las Palmas instead, but there is still an agreement to be made with Chelsea. A club source told the publication:

“We are [involved] in it, is a player that interests us but [he] has a contract with another team.”

The 30 year old has just one year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge and is deemed surplus to requirements by manager Antonio Conte after failing to feature in a single competitive match under the Italian since the summer of 2016.

His loan spell at Crystal Palace last season was hampered by a number of injuries and he returned to the Blues this summer to take part in the club’s tour of the Far East. Since his return however, he has so far not made the squad in the four matches that Chelsea have played in all competitions this campaign.
