Chelsea full back Baba Rahman looks set to remain with the Blues this month as he continues his slow recovery from a serious knee injury.

The Ghanaian international joined Schalke on a season long loan last season but was sidelined after sustaining cartilage damage back in December.

The Bundesliga club were said to be keen on taking the 23 year old on a second loan spell despite the fact he is still to recover full fitness, but Goal.com report that Chelsea and Rahman have agreed the best course of action is for the defender to remain at Cobham Training Centre to continue his recovery.

Turkish club Galatasaray were also interested in signing the left back on loan but Futbol Arena have confirmed that the Super Lig side have also withdrawn their interest in the player in order to allow Rahman to complete his fitness rehabilitation programme. Both clubs may return to the fray in January once the Ghanaian is available for team selection.
