Chelsea and Leicester City are still a fair distance away from each other in their valuations of midfielder Danny Drinkwater, according to Evening Standard journalist Simon Johnson.
The Blues have been linked with a large number of central midfield players over the past week or so with Juventus’s Claudio Marchisio, Real Madrid’s Marcos Llorente and Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto the latest to be talked of as potential targets.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte looks to have his sights firmly on Drinkwater as he seeks to strengthen his midfield after a number of departures in that area of the pitch this summer.
The Foxes are believed to have a valuation in excess of £30m for the 27 year old but the Premier League champions are yet to be convinced that such a valuation is merited for the player.
Drinkwater has been struggling with a thigh problem since the back end of last season, and has yet to play for Craig Shakespeare’s side this campaign, which will also be of concern to Chelsea.
