Inter Milan have firmly shut the door on selling Antonio Candreva to Chelsea before the end of the transfer window, according to Calciomercato.com.
Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s decision to turn down a move to Stamford Bridge has prompted the Blues to search for other potential targets. German tabloid Bild this morning linked the club with a move for Bayern Munich’s Rafinha but the newspaper believes that the Bundesliga club won’t let the player leave.
Another alternative, Southampton’s Cedric Soares says he is happy to remain at St Mary’s despite the interest being shown in him. Candreva would therefore likely be a candidate that Chelsea will be considering.
Inter are however short of alternatives on the right flank, and are unlikely to to be able to sign a replacement before the transfer deadline. Their two main targets, Lazio’s Keita Balde Diao (Monaco) and Sampdoria’s Patrik Schick (Roma) have chosen to join other clubs while the signing of young talent Yann Karamoh from Caen would not be seen as a satisfactory substitute for Candreva.
