AC Milan have turned their sights away from Chelsea striker Diego Costa towards Fiorentina forward and ex Blackburn Rovers player Nikola Kalinic, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The Rossoneri have missed out on Alvaro Morata to the Blues, as well as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Andrea Belotti this summer but they are still not interested in making an offer for Costa.
The Spanish international has his heart set on a permanent switch to Atletico Madrid in January, and Milan are seeking a longer term solution for their forward department rather than offering a six month loan spell for the 28 year old.
Costa remains in limbo after being told by manager Antonio Conte that he has no future at Stamford Bridge. The striker is believed to be concerned about losing out on a place at next year’s World Cup if he misses the first half of the season as a he waits for a move to Atletico. At the moment however, there seems to be no teams interested in taking the player on temporary basis.
