Fenerbahce are targeting Chelsea centre back Andreas Christensen as a replacement for Sevilla bound Simon Kjaer, according to Turkish newspaper Sozcu.

Christensen is Kjaer’s centre back partner for Denmark, and the Turkish club are reportedly keen on the 21 year old as a possible permanent signing. The defender is believed to be on a two man shortlist with AC Milan’s Gustavo Gomez said to be the Super Lig side’s main alternative to Christensen.

Sozcu say the decision on the centre half’s future is very much down to Blues boss Antonio Conte. The Italian was believed to be considering keeping the Danish international as a first team player for next season with the Evening Standard reporting last month that he will be given the chance to impress.

It seems highly unlikely that Fenerbahce would have the funds to finance a move for Christensen. They will reportedly receive €13m for the sale of Kjaer to Sevilla but that would probably not even come close to half of what Chelsea would want for the player.
