Atletico Madrid expect to seal the transfer of Chelsea striker Diego Costa for €50m or £45.4m, according to AS, but only once Luciano Vietto has agreed a €20m move to Sampdoria.

The Argentinian forward is reportedly reluctant to make the switch to Italy, Sky Sport Italia (via Football-Italia.net) are reporting, as he will have to take a significant pay cut.

The 23 year old is said to be on €2.4m a season at the Spanish club but he will receive just €1.6m a year if he makes the switch to Serie A. He will however get more game time in Italy as he is not part of Atletico manager Diego Simeone’s first team plans after his season long loan spell at Sevilla last season.

In terms of Costa’s situation, Madrid based publication AS say that Atletico president Miguel Angel Gil is imploring the Spanish international to cool his war of words with Chelsea. The La Liga club want to be on good terms with the Blues so when Vietto is sold they can come to agreement for Costa.
