Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi will remain at Stamford Bridge for the forthcoming season, according to Estadio Deportivo.

The Belgian international look poised to leave the Blues after starting just one Premier League game last campaign. It seems as though manager Antonio Conte has had a change of heart after the 23 year old’s pre-season performances.

With Diego Costa absent from the side, Batshuayi was given the chance to shine during the tour of the Far East, and his five goals from three games impressed Conte enough to select him to start the Community Shield against Arsenal yesterday, ahead of record signing Alvaro Morata.

Estadio Deportivo reports that Sevilla, and a number of other top level European sides, were monitoring Batshuayi’s situation but they have been told from a source close to the player that the forward has been given reassurances by Conte that he will be given more chances in the first team next season.
