Chelsea manager Antonio Conte remains interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches, according to Evening Standard journalist Simon Johnson.
The Portuguese midfielder is on a five man shortlist of players the Blues will try to sign before the end of transfer window. Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Swansea striker Fernando Llorente and Juventus full back Alex Sandro are the four other names on the list.
It was reported by the same journalist last Tuesday that the 19 year old was unlikely to move to Stamford Bridge on loan this summer with Sanches unconvinced that he would be afforded the game time he wants at the Premier League champions.
The midfielder started just nine games last season after signing from Benfica for an initial £31.5m. He was again a substitute for Bayern on Saturday evening in their penalty shootout victory against Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup.
