Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko says he may have considered a switch to Paris Saint-Germain but he has happy with his decision to join the Blues from Monaco instead.
Speaking on SFR Sport TV show Breaking Foot (quotes via Le10 Sport), the 23 year old was asked about the speculation linking him with a switch to PSG over the summer. He said he was not aware of the interest himself and was delighted to make the switch to Stamford Bridge:
“Did PSG make an offer? I do not know. But it is hard not to be interested in a club like PSG. I opted for Chelsea, I do not regret my choice.”
Despite having no pre-season due to a knee injury, Bakayoko was thrust in to the starting line up by manager Antonio Conte for the 2-1 win over Spurs earlier his month. He impressed both pundits and fans with his display.
The return of Cesc Fabregas from suspension meant the Frenchman was relegated to the substitutes bench for the 2-0 victory over Everton on Sunday, but the new £40m signing will no doubt prove his worth as the season wears on.
