Chelsea are looking at Portuguese full back Joao Cancelo as a potential option to strengthen the right hand side, according to Skysports.com.

The 23 year old has also been interesting the likes of Juventus and Tottenham this summer but the Valencia defender has not been the subject of a bid from either club.

Max Allegri’s side signed Mattia De Sciglio from AC Milan to replace Dani Alves while Spurs’s interest is believed to have cooled over the past week.

It leaves the Blues the firm front runners in the race for the Portuguese international, although the Daily Mail report that the full back is just one of a number of options Chelsea are considering for the right wing back role.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Serge Aurier remains a possible alternative although any interest in the Ivorian international is heavily dependent on the player winning his appeal against an assault conviction, which would prevent him getting a work visa to play in England.
