Chelsea have agreed a fee exceeding €30m (£27.9m) for Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater, according to SFR Sport in France.
The French TV station say they have received information that a deal will go through before the transfer window closes at the end of Thursday. They also report that Leicester City have already lined up a replacement in Paris Saint-Germain’s Grzegorz Krychowiak.
The Polish international is deemed surplus to requirements by PSG after signing from Sevilla for £30million last summer, but it is believed the Foxes have yet to make a formal bid for the 27 year old.
The Daily Telegraph reported at the weekend that Leicester had turned down a £25million bid from Chelsea for Drinkwater but it seems a third offer, likely around £30m if SFR Sport are to be believed, has managed to secure the transfer of the midfielder. The England international has yet to play this season due to a thigh injury but a move to Stamford Bridge seems to be imminent.
