Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are keeping tabs on Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak’s contract situation, according to Sport newspaper.

The Blues already have a world class goalkeeper in Thibaut Courtois but contract talks have stalled, with the Belgian international having just two years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge.

Oblak’s own contract still has a long way to run with his current deal expiring in 2021, but Atletico are said to be in talks with the keeper in order to ward off potential interest from other clubs.

The Slovenian international has however questioned whether he has a long term future at the Spanish club, speaking to Slovenian newspaper Ekipa24 (via Sport), the 24 year old seemed to be keeping his options open. When asked about where he will playing after the current campaign, Oblak said:

“Things are changing from one day to the next.”

It’s usually the case in these circumstances that players make such comments to the press when they are trying to get a sizeable salary increase from their current club in contract negotiations, but Chelsea will no doubt be keeping an eye on developments.
