Inter Milan sporting director Walter Sabatini has spoken with a representative of Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez in Italy, according to the Corriere Dello Sport.

Roma are said to be locked in discussions with the Foxes about signing Mahrez but it seems one of their Serie A rivals could step in to make a bid. If Inter do indeed make their move for the Algerian international, it could pave the way for Andrea Candreva to join Chelsea.

Currently Ivan Perisic and Candreva are the club’s two first choice wingers but the arrival of Mahrez could push one out the exit door before the transfer window shuts.

Candreva has been heavily linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge in a number of English newspapers. Blues boss Antonio Conte is believed to be a huge admirer of the 30 year old after managing the player when he was coach of the Italian national side.
