Serie A side Cagliari may be about to offer Chelsea forward Loic Remy the chance to leave Stamford Bridge, according to Sky Sport Italia (via Football-Italia.net).

The Frenchman has not played a single minute of competitive first team action so far this season and has a contract that expires next summer when he can leave for nothing.

Sky in Italy believe Cagliari are struggling to secure a deal for Napoli’s Leonardo Pavoletti who is their top target for a new striker, and they have turned their attentions to the Blues forward in order to get a signing through the door before the end of the transfer window.

Remy struggled out on loan at Crystal Palace last season, having made just eight appearances for the Eagles due to a knee injury and subsequently failing to impress then manager Sam Allardyce.

With the 30 year old’s contract running down, Chelsea are no doubt willing to listen to any offers but no one has been willing to take up the option to sign the former French international as of yet.
