Chelsea have made a £25million bid for Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater but they remain a fair distance from the Foxes’ £40million valuation of the player, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Journalist John Percy reports that Blues manager Antonio Conte wants four other players, in addition to Drinkwater, before the transfer window slams shut on Thursday.
A move for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley is on the cards but after the Merseyside’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea yesterday, Toffees boss Ronald Koeman confirmed that the club had received no official bids for the 23 year old so far.
Swansea’s Fernando Llorente also remains on the club’s radar with a £15million reportedly being lined up before the August 31st deadline. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s move to Chelsea meanwhile looks to be edging closer after Sky Sports reported that a fee has been agreed for the winger with Arsenal.
Out of the five potential targets, the unlikeliest remains Juventus’s Alex Sandro. The Brazilian has so far shown no indication that he wants to leave the Serie A champions and the Bianconeri are adamant that the 26 year old will remain in Italy.
