Valencia are pushing to sign defender Kurt Zouma from Chelsea, according to Spanish radio station Cadena SER.
The La Liga club have reportedly been working on the transfer for a number of weeks, but they have come across a major obstacle in their pursuit. Zouma is reluctant to leave the Premier League.
The Frenchman joined the Blues from Saint Etienne for £12million in 2014, and wants to stay at Stamford Bridge to regain his best form after recovering from a serious knee injury last season.
The 22 year old believes he still has a chance of working his way into the first team under Antonio Conte but Cadena SER say that Chelsea are willing to let the player leave.
The signing of centre back Antonio Rudiger from Roma for £34m will mean that Zouma’s opportunities of regular first team action next season in the Premier League will be limited. Currently Rudiger, Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta are likely ahead of him in the pecking order at the club.
