The agent of Chelsea midfielder Mario Pasalic has denied speculation that Lazio are in advanced talks to sign the Croatian international from the Blues.

Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Marko Naletilic rejected reports that the Serie A side are interested in signing the 22 year old:

“Pasalic to Lazio? It is not true, all invention.”

Pasalic spent last season out on loan in Italy with AC Milan, and reports in the Italian press yesterday suggested that the midfielder is being pursued by Lazio in view to another loan deal, with the Serie A side buying the player at the end of temporary move.

Tuttomercatoweb are adamant that talks are underway, and that Naletilic’s denial is disingenuous. However, the Croatian has one year left on his contract and it is unlikely Chelsea would agree to a loan offer.

The Blues are probably waiting for a bid that allows them to make a sizeable profit on the £2.1m they paid Hajduk Split for the player in 2014. ABC Sevilla say the midfielder has a €10m price tag but with his contract expiring next summer, it is likely Chelsea will accept a lower offer.
