AC Milan remain interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, according to Goal.com, but it seems the Spaniard will turn down any moves away from Stamford Bridge after talks with Blues boss Antonio Conte.
The Evening Standard say that the Italian manager sat down with Fabregas to emphasise he will be a key member of the first team squad next season despite the arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco.
The 30 year old spent a great deal of last season on the bench, starting just 18 league games, mainly due to Conte’s desire to have two holding midfield players in a 3-4-3 formation.
With Bakayoko’s arrival at the club, he is likely to replace Nemanja Matic in the team, alongside N’Golo Kante, leaving Fabregas once again without a place in the starting eleven. Conte has however told the Spanish international that he will be given more game time next season, especially with the club loaning out Ruben Loftus-Cheek, selling Nathaniel Chalobah and Matic also likely to leave.
