Dutch newspaper the Eindhoven Dagblad are reporting that PSV Eindhoven have given up trying to sign Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel on a permanent deal.
They will instead propose an offer that would see the Dutch international join the Eredivisie club on loan for a third time. Van Ginkel first joined PSV for the second half of the 2015/16 season, but then returned to Stamford Bridge after a successful first loan spell.
The Dutchman then joined the the club on loan for a second time last season. The 24 year old excelled during his two spells in the Netherlands, scoring 15 goals from 31 appearances.
PSV were keen to sign the player permanently but Chelsea’s £10m valuation has proven too much. They are short of central midfielders and with the team just two weeks away from their first competitive match in the Europa League third qualifying round, they are seeking to change tack in order to get this deal over the line.
