Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is ready to reject overtures from Inter Milan and give defender Andreas Christensen a chance in the first team, according to the Evening Standard.

Various reports from Italy have suggested that the Danish international is a prime summer transfer target for the Nerazzurri, with the Corriere Dello Sport recently stating the Serie A club were willing to shell out €30m (£27m) on the 21 year old.

Conte seems keen to keep the centre half, and after the player impressed in the Bundesliga after a two year loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach, the Italian must think the defender has what it takes to excel in the Premier League.

The Standard however report that with Christensen’s inclusion in Conte’s first team plans, it inevitably means there will be a lack of game time for Kurt Zouma. The 22 year old has 20 clubs chasing him on loan with Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion leading the way among Premier League clubs.
