Real Madrid have already lined up a replacement for Danilo, according to Marca. The La Liga champions are looking at signing Paris Saint-Germain’s Thomas Meunier whose first team place is under threat from Dani Alves.

It looks like a game of right back musical chairs is about to take place, if the Madrid based publication is to be believed. With Alves heading to PSG after turning down both Manchester City and the Blues, it will allow the French club to sell Meunier to Real, which in turn frees the Spanish side to let Danilo leave.

Earlier on this window, Juventus were said to be in pole position for Danilo, but it seems Chelsea’s willingness to bid higher than the Serie A side could swing things in the Premier League champions favour.

There is still some way to go before a deal for the 25 year old is finalised with the Evening Standard reporting that the Blues won’t meet Real’s €35m asking price.
